Healing FAQ
This page is dedicated to providing essential information about healing your body art, ensuring that your tattoos and piercings recover properly. Discover tips and best practices to maintain the integrity and beauty of your body art during the healing process.
Healing your Piercing
Use a saline solution to gently clean the piercing. You can purchase it in various places or make your own with 1 teaspoon of non-iodized salt with 2 cups of distilled water. Begin by washing your hands, wet a Q-Tip with the solution, and then gently dab and rub away any crusties. Do this 3-4 times a day to ensure no bacteria gets into the wound. If you have gotten a mouth piercing use a non-alcoholic mouthwash after eating, drinking, and any intimate activities.
Tattoo Aftercare
With Second Skin:
Leave the skin on for 4-5 days, if it leaks or peels up revealing the tattoo go ahead and remove it. You may get a sack of fluid, this is normal. After night 2 it should mostly soak back up into the skin. When removing we recommend taking it off in warm (not hot) water. Grab a corner and gently pull up then out pulling parallel to the skin. Proceed to use unscented or tattoo specific lotion as needed.
Without Second Skin:
Is applicable, leave saran wrap on for 1 hour, no longer than 2. Handwash the tattoo (no rag, loofah, etc.) with unscented antibacterial soap 2-3 times a day. Pat dry with a soft towel. Once the tattoo has scabbed over, lightly use unscented lotion (i.e. Cetaphil, Aveeno, etc.) as needed.
